The Jordan Fishwick Property Buying Process ::

Step 1

Choosing a Property

Search properties on our site – we have a wide range of houses and flats for all types of buyers. Find the right home, from popular locations to new developments. You can make an appointment to view your property through your estate agents.

Step 2

Make an offer

Once you’ve chosen the place for you, make an offer through us. The price you offer is up to you, but you’ll need to offer enough to convince the owners to sell. You may also need to arrange a mortgage for your property.  Our totally independent advisors will be able to help, so contact your local branch for further advice

Step 3

Solicitors and Surveyors

The solicitors handle the legal process of the purchase, and completes the documentation necessary to buy property.

If using a mortgage, the lender will send out a qualified surveyor to check the property over for you. They will identify any issues that may be of concern and confirm the value you are paying is correct.

Step 4

Offers and Mortgages

We will be on hand to discuss any findings and liaise with the owners if need be,but hopefully as in most cases there’s nothing to worry about.

Step 5

Exchange Contracts

The next stage is to exchange contracts. You can expect your solicitor to go through the details with you, as the selling party’s solicitors should with them. Once you exchange contracts, you cannot back out – you are committed to purchase the property, and the sellers to complete the sale. Deposit monies will be paid at this stage.

Step 6


Completing on the property means paying the remaining amount of the agreed price from your solicitor’s account to the seller’s solicitor’s account.

You will need to pay your solicitor’s fee, and then they will transfer ownership of the home with the Land Registry. You may need to pay Stamp Duty, depending on the value of the property.
