Step 1
The estate agent

Property Survey
Property surveys are reports that a licensed professional carries out. They are intended to determine the value of the property and to highlight any issues with the property that might prevent you from offering the same purchase price. Before you exchange contracts, you need to make sure that you and the mortgage provider are still happy to proceed with the property price and the mortgage valuation. The complete property survey should help you decide if you are ready to exchange contracts.
Step 6
Exchange contracts
When you exchange contracts, you swap and sign the contracts you need to ensure you complete the house buying process. At this point, you have to put down your deposit. After you have exchanged contracts, you are legally bound to purchase the property. Exchanging contracts is generally seen as the most important section of the buying process. Reaching this stage indicates your seriousness on both parties.
Step 7
Completion
Completion day is the final section of the house buying process. On completion day, your solicitor will arrange for your money to be transferred to the seller’s solicitor.
Your completion date is the day you move and your house is sold.
